International Conference on Recent Advances in Rock Engineering
The Conference will address the problems and challenges posed in excavation of openings in rock for mining engineering, civil engineering & infrastructure development projects' and will discuss solutions to overcome these problems. Past experiences will be shared' and application of new technologies will be explored'
The conference will focus on the developments and innovations made in recent years in the field of rock engineering, with special emphasis on field measurements' instrumentation and data collection, to understand the behaviour of excavations in rock'
The main theme of the Conference is Recent Advances in Rock Engineering; the specialized
theme is ‘lnstrumentation and Field Measurements'
MMMM-16 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION - GSI SHOWCASES ACTIVITIES
Geological Survey of India participated in the 11th MMMM-2016 (Minerals, Metals, Metallurgy & Materials) International Exhibition, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 10 – 12 August, 2016.
GSI, Northern Region took the responsibility of showcasing the activities of GSI in the exhibition.
The Park & Museum Cell, GSI, Lucknow organised the stall of GSI - highlighting GSI activities.
The event witnessed the participation of eleven countries viz. China, Germany, Italy, Poland,
Taiwan, UAE, Spain, South Korea, United Kingdom, Russia and India. The GSI Gallery attracted a large number of Indian and foreign visitors. A Brochure - highlighting the activities and achievements of GSI - was released to commemorate the event.
GSI, Hyderabad participates in Bharat Utsav - 2016 At JNTUH, Hyderabad
Geological Survey of India, southern Region participated in the Bharat Utsav Expo- 2016 from 18th to 24th August 2016 at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) Campus at Kukatpally. The GSI displayed specimens of rocks, minerals, gemstones, dimension stones, charts, photographs of Geo-tourism sites, National Geological Monuments, Geological maps of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and Paleontological samples. The main attraction of the exhibition was a fibre glass model of the Rynchosaur, a fossilised Dinosaur egg and caudal vertebra of dinosaurs. Two brochures viz. (i) Gemstone testing facility at GSI, SR, Hyderabad (ii) GSI Activities & Achievements were distributed to the visitors.
